Precious Cargo - Finished.

I managed to finish this piece early this morning, now to find what I will do next - will it be a painting or a scratchboard?  BTW the reference photograph used is by Tambako the Jaguar at FlickR.

Precious Cargo.

More progress made on a "Precious Cargo" - still quite a way to go though, hopefully I will finish the area around the top of the cub's head today.  (The board in real life is not showing as bright as this.)

I don't wanna go!

I have had a short break these past couple of weeks from doing any type of art, and making the decision as to whether the next would be painting or scratchboard, the latter won and I started on a 12" x 16" board yesterday. Again, it was hard to come up with a title.

Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas and a great New Year! 2012.

ISSA in Aus. Magazine

The current edition of the Australian Fine Art & Decorative Painting magazine, Vol. 19 #5 has published an article I wrote about the new International Society of Scratchboard Artists (ISSA).  It features images of the ISSA Master Scratch Artists President Lorna Hannett - "Tea and Strawberries" which is one of my favourite pieces by Lorna, fellow Aussie Patrick Hedges, Vice President - "The Birdy Bunch and Lion", Diana Lee's "Ella" and my own "A Single Glass".

If you would like further information about joining ISSA, here is the link to the website:-

Here is my latest scratchboard finished, and unless I can come up with another title I have decided to call this piece"Thirsty"  at least for now.
