Freckle the Koala.

A couple of weeks ago I went to a koal centre about 20 minutes drive from home to specifically take photographs for my scratchboard art.  Out of all the photographs taken I now have plenty of one koala in particular whose name is Freckle.

The info. below is taken from the Daisy Hill Koala Centre.

Freckle was born in late 2004. She was found in the pouch of a female koala that was rescued and taken to the Moggill Koala Hospital for medical treatment. When Freckle’s mother (Speckle) did not survive, the orphaned Freckle was cared for and prepared for rehabilitation back to the wild. Freckle however, did not respond to the rehabilitation program, which indicated she would not survive if returned to the wild. Permission was granted (by the Department of Environment and Resource Management’s Chief Executive) for her to remain in captivity for education purposes at the Daisy Hill Koala Centre.

Freckle can often be seen high up on the outdoor crossbeam where she loves to sit, even in the rain. Although fully grown, Freckle is a small-sized koala with much smaller ears than Eucky who is the other resident koala. Freckle is often brought to community events and has become a well known koala around the Brisbane area.

 Work so far.

I'm pleased you enjoyed reading about Freckle Rita. This board is taking me longer to do than I expected.
