Green Eyes

Well it is still raining here in Brisbane and there will be no stopping until the end of the week, we have been told and is now Monday morning and with yesterday being so wet, I didn't venture anywhere and worked on yet another board which I plan to have as a scratchboard pattern sometime in the New Year.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas & a very happy & safe New Year everyone.
It seems that we are in for a very, very wet Christmas here in Queensland which is known as the "Sunshine State"!  We have had rain, rain and more rain on and off since November after many years of drought and now many of the States of Aus. are experiencing floods.  We also have a cyclone looming off the coast of Nth. Queensland so there will be no outdoor barbeques, or trips to the beach for Christmas Day this year.

Although I have been quiet of late,  I have been rather busy with having been commissioned for 3 of my scratchboards for the Aus. Fine Art & Decorative Painting magazine, working on 3 scratch patterns to be available in the New Year and also getting some of my work ready to go on display at a shopping centre early in January.

"Elegant Rose" is one of the patterns which will be available next month and it will also be featured in an upcoming edition of the Aus. magazine although it will have a different title.

"Lola" is another pattern which is almost completed.

I have already started work on another board which will be for the third pattern and I will post a picture when done.

Again Merry Christmas everyone!

This is my last scratchboard for the year, although I have plenty in mind to do for the New Year.  This one is 11" x 14" in size and the original design is by Jan McCraw of Ladybug Creations who suggested that I might like to try it on scratchboard.  With animals being my favourite subject of all, this one,  I thought would be way out of my comfort zone but I got there in the end, this is my version of the beautiful angel.

Making a start -  I wanted to get the face scratched out first before working on the rest of the board.

I imagined that the feathers on the wings were going to be the most difficult for me to do but in fact they were nowhere near as difficult and took a lot less time than I thought.

The completed "Serenity".

The full colour version by Jan McCraw will be featured on her  "Winter" version of the "Calendar Collection" set coming out very shortly and can be seen at the link below:-
