Timba - completed.

Finally "Timba" is finished......well I think she is!  I'll let it sit for a while before varnishing it just in case I see something that needs a little more work; this piece which is 12" x 12" has taken me a little longer to do than I thought with it being not quite 3 weeks since I started.  Although dogs are my favourite subject of all, I seem to have had a "thing" for doing lions in scratch with Majestic Lion and another I did some time ago "Lazin' Around".  I was given permission by Tambako on FlickR to use this photograph.

Gorgeous Girl - Timba.

I decided not to wait until this board was finished before showing it and have done a little more work since taking this photograph, so here is the beginning of "Timba" which I think will be great to go with "Majestic Lion" as a pair.  The photograph reference was used with permission by "Tambako" on FlickR.

A Little Painting

I have finally painted!!!! - a wooden Christmas ornament for my baby grandson born in February this year, his name and the year is painted on the back AND I have started another scratchboard which will be a companion to the "Majestic Lion" I recently completed.  Although I am still really not in "painting mode" I am also going to start on a canvas painting plus I am in a Christmas ornament Exchange so the brushes will definitely be working!

The design on this wooden ornament is by Jan McCraw of Ladybug Creations.  There is glitter on the wings of this little angel although cannot be seen in the photograph.

Majestic Lion.

Here he is, finished today after about 3 weeks solid "scratching"!!!!  This photograph amongst others, was sent to me by a friend in Canada and I was undecided as to whether to do a painting of him or a scratchboard, and as for a title - "Lion King" or "Majestic Lion" and the latter won in both cases.

First board for the month.

I was given some photographs to use as references for my artwork and I commenced this board a few days ago from one of them, size of the board is 11" x 14".  I haven't thought of a title as yet so if there are any suggestions out there!!!!!!
